Bilal Bikile is an Ethiopian-American writer, curator, and multidisciplinary artist based in San Diego. He is the founder and director of Deixis Gallery and founding editor of Deixis Journal, a multidisciplinary literary magazine. His work spans fiction, photography, film, and electronic literature, with recent publications in Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora and The Perfect Healthy. He is the author of the photobook Al-Ghayb (The Unseen) (2021), which was exhibited at Swish Projects, and writer of the short film Bekele (2023), screened nationally. Bikile received his BA in Comparative Literature from San Diego State University and was a 2024 Writer-in-Residence at The Grunewald Guild, where he completed his short story collection I Don't Know What's Wrong with Me.
